Autumn (2009)

Autumn (2009)
Director: Steven Rumbelow
Writers: David Moody, Steven Rumbelow
Cast: Dexter Fletcher, Dickon Tolson, Lana Kamenov, Anton Brejak, David Carradine
A horrible virus kills billions within minutes. The few survivors that are left have to deal with the shock of the apocalypse, and they have no idea that things are about to get much worse.
IMDB Page
Unoriginal low budget zombie nonsense about a virus wiping out most of mankind, leaving a small group of survivors in the city. When the dead start to walk again it causes tension between the group so Carl, Michael and Emma decide to break away and head out to the countryside.

Unashamedly derivative plot is not helped by poor camera work and direction and even poorer acting. The first mostly talky half of the movie feels like you are sitting in on a alcoholic anonymous meeting. Slight highlight for cult movie lovers will be seeing the late David Carradine turn up as a Norman Bates styled loner looking after his zombie mother. Move along people there's nothing to see here.

Bane (2008)

Bane (2008)
Director: James Eaves
Writer: James Eaves
Cast: Sophia Dawnay, Lisa Devlin, Jonathan Sidgwick
The sadistic surgeon in this disturbing horror film seems to have forgotten the dictum, “First, do no harm.” He has trapped four women in a cell, and though they have no memory of their pasts, he gives them a grisly reminder of their future: he has carved the time he will kill them into their flesh, and they must attempt an escape before it is too late.
IMDB Page
Story centers on four female patients undergoing prison like experiments taken out by the nilistic Dr. Murdoch and his masked nurses . Only as the experiments get more sadistic the four women start to lose control of their minds and start suspecting that the doctors killing them off.

Even though the movies got a mundane plot I kinda enjoyed this. Its kept interesting due to the above average performances from the four females, the general weird vibe (including tentacles and those masked nurses) and the high amount of blood spilled.
