Darren and his best friend Steve decide to visit a local feakshow after their school bans its pupils from going. Only one attraction is a vaudeville vampire who ends up turning Darren into his half blood vampire assistant. The two friends end up becoming a key part in a 500 year old battle between vampires and the vampaneze (whom are a slightly more animalistic evil natured breed of vampires). Loads of interesting characters including a snake boy, wolfman, Salma Hayek still hot as the bearded lady and a Vincent Price'esc vampire played by Willem Dafoe. Sure its aimed at kids but what it lacks in blood and fangs it makes up for in comic action.

A small wooden box arrives on the doorstep of a married couple, who know that opening it will grant them a million dollars and kill someone they don't know.Based on an old Twilight Zone episode this mild feeling mystery yarn about a couple faced with a moral dilemma, could they live with the anonymous death of someone if they accept to take a million dollars. Does have a few very interesting moments and typical of Donnie Darko's director Richard Kelly is stylishly filmed (largely thanks to the sets and costumes giving it the 70's feel). Ultimately though for all its early promise it fails due to its messy scripted final third that is far too safe feeling and lacking in logic. Great seeing Frank Langella as the creepy box messenger Arlington Steward.
