Anthology horror collection.

#1 The Gorge: Three friends get caved in while out exploring a gorge, after 27 days of eating only bats and rats, the two healthier members eat their dying friend. After being found they continue to crave human flesh.

#2 Sabbath Hill: A married teacher is haunted by a pupil, who commited suicide after he had an affair and got her pregnant.

#3 Dust: To help his terminally ill wife, a security guard steals a vial of dust from work, thats thought to be a potential cure for cancer. At first she seems to be cured, only things don't work as he'd hoped, and she becomes addicted to the dust.

Abysmally bad, unimaginative trilogy of tales, for the life me I wonder why Romero got involved. The first tale is a poor mans Descent rip off, seconds a flat morality tale about being haunted by guilt, the thirds a laughable 'how far can a man go to protect that which he loves' featuring moon dust and zombies. Highlight of the whole thing is the cleavage of actress Amanda Frost (who plays pregnant pupil and suicide victim Allison Knowles) , its just a shame we never actually see her topless. The gores amatuer the tension is none existant and theres zero humour throughout the entire duration, at least the worst troma offering, has gags this has nothing. I urge fans to avoid it at all costs, and urge Romero to use his name for something more worthy (which would be absoultly anything than more volumes of this garbage).

A man who is having an affair with a married woman is dropped off on the wrong street when going back to his hotel. He takes refuge out of the rain when an old man invites him in. He turns out to be a mortician, who tells him the stories of the people who have wound up in his establishment over the course of four stories.

During a stormy night a sales rep who is having an affair with a married woman ends up being dropped off in the wrong area, and gets invited in from the storm by a mortician. The mortician tells him four tales based on the lives of the bodies in his funeral palor.The first story concerns school teacher Miss Sibiler, who gets victimized in her home by a group of party masked kids, when the children eventually take off their masks she relizes they're monsters. The second helping follows a lonely man who securs dates with various women, on bringing them back to his appartment, he murders them while filming. The third tale is about a world famous inspector from scotland yard named McDowal, he observes a US detective has he tries to solve a case concerning a killer who sends anonimous letters before he stalks. It turns out the Englishman isn't all he seems. The final tale follows rich self important businessman Den Cantwell, being trapped in an elevator shaft within a empty building. He's slowly fed wine, untill he becomes a bum.At the end we learn the mortician is really a death type character who is there to pick up the sales rep, because he's been shot by the husband of the woman he's been cheating with.

I'm not sure what the hell went on with this anthology horror, or why its mostly known as Alien Zone, its either been cut to ribbens or never contained science fiction or alien themes. It all feels like something is missing, the second story especially feels unfinished. I must be honest the segment with the masked kids, has a slightly creepy atmosphere, but I'd avoid the hell out of it.

Well crafted action packed eco-apocalypse drama, a mad cow style virus breaks out across the world, causing mass panic and diminishing food supplies. The Japanese goverment kills millions of its citizens with the British goverment likely to follow. John Custance whose living in London decides he's best fleeing the city with his family to seek refuge with his brother in Scotland, only the government have turned the country into a police state closing down all the bigger towns and roads. The rules have now changed for the Custane family and various like minded citizens they pick up during their journey, its now a case of kill or be killed to survive.

Quality drama directed and penned by Cornel Wilde, its got a real anti government vibe, and features more shootings and murders than a Peckinpah western. Nigel Davenport complete with eye patch is fantastic in the lead role.

A collection of eerie tales featuring master storytellers presenting classic and original ghost stories far too scary for television.

Five spoken word stories, set in Tuesday Hill Boneyard and introduced by the graveyard creeper (Bob Jenkins).

The first "Where Have You Been, Billy Boy, Billy Boy" is written and narrated by Ralph Lucas, its the tale of a woman who one night has a nightmare about being raped by rats, only her nightmare continues as she eventually gives birth to a cross breed boy she calls Billy.

The second yarn is Sandra McLees "Mr. Fox" narrated by Laura Kay, its the tale about a woman whose never had interest from men. she eventually finds someone whose interested in her Mr Fox, only he turns out to be a lady killer.

Next up is Sandra McLees narrating her own story "Buried Alive" its the tale of a woman who has a fight with her husband, when she wakes up everyone thinks shes dead, she ends up being buried alive. Only to be dug up by the towns drunk, so he can steal her jewelry, out of revenge she pretends to haunt her husband.

Bob Jenkins tells the forth story "Hunting Werewolves for Uncle Albert" a silly tall tale about a young man who was sent out to hunt a werewolf by his uncle, only he encounters various other monsters including a space monster and Frankenstein monster.

The final tale is Sheri Emonds "Reunion" told by Maria Hayden, its the tale of a female witch being reunited with her dead former husband Jack.

Shot on video yawn fest, that might be a total hoot if your extremely stoned and into amateur stage productions. Filmed spoken word rarely works, off the top of my head I can only remember BBC's Jackanory doing it justice, but that had names like Jeremy Irons and Helena Bonham Carter behind it, you can tell the actors here, who no doubt had good intentions of bringing these stories to life, have not had much experience outside of a their bedrooms mirror. It doesn't help either that the stories are unoriginal rubbish. Why it was ever released in the first place is shocking, and why I sat through it, is quite frankly, beyond me.

Set in the early years of the century. A story of a country gentleman haunted by the memory of his first wife. His current wife, had enough of his obsession and has taken a lover, who is mysteriously paralyzed. Meanwhile, main character´s son gets his first taste of sensual experience with a mute peasant girl.

Set at the turn of the the century, Peter Strumienski lives in his rural manor home with his wife Ola and his children. He's a deeply unhappy man, haunted by his first wife Angelica, his obsession with her pushes his new wife into a sexual relationship with her own cousin Mariusz. Peter has dreams still of Angelica who tells him he'll never find satisfaction in any other woman. Its not that he doesn't try, knowing of Ola's affair he himself tries to seduce a visiting photographers wife, only he just can't do it. At this time his son whose back home on a break from boarding school, is skirting with his first sexual experiences, after he's become transfixed with a mute peasant girl who lives feral around the manor grounds. One night Peter catches her visiting his son, but instead of seeing the mute girl he see's his wife. Peter wanting to end his misery, shoots the poor girl. This sets about a cataclysmic final, with Peter now knowing there is no hope within his soul, to ever be free of Angelica.

Moody Polish fantasy melodrama, the story is pretty much a lurid family saga with a faint hint of horror flowing under the surface. Its highly atmospheric and very decadent. The visuals have a very brown Autumn tone, which is very fitting with the plot about losing something, and waiting for something else to grow in its place. The central performance from Roman Wilhelmi is perfect, really capturing a man whose living but not feeling anything. The ending has so much impact, Peter rides an horse to his graphic death. We learnt earlier in the film the horse once belonged to Angelica, she used to ride it naked during stormy nights, which the locals including a priest and friend to the family, enjoyed peeping at. I really loved it, even though it contains plenty of nudity, I'd guess it'd be a touch slow and depressing for some viewers tastes, best appreciated by fans of arthouse cinema.

An Indian mystic uses magical chants to raise women from the dead, then sends them out to perform revenge killings for him.

A creepy masked man uses black magic to raise women from the dead, which he sends out to kill for him. The first attack happens randomly against a pair of grave robbers, then the masked voodoo killer focuses his attention on the followers of an Indian mystic guru named Krishna, who is based in London. After more murders a detective starts to suspect its occult black magic, and it slowly unfolds that its Krishna disfigured brother Kantaka, whose behind the crimes.

Fun Spanish occult drama from the great León Klimovsky, it was penned by legendary horror actor Paul Naschy under his real name Jacinto Molina. The plot its self is pretty loose making the film feel sloppy at times. Some of the murders seem way too random, the killer changes his look and method almost every murder, theres even a segment he looks a little like V from V for Vendetta. Sometimes the killer uses wax figures to conjure up the undead, other times he uses the figures to take control of living people, he even uses them directly to force people to commit suicide. Naschy has three roles, one as the central character Krishna (which he olive skins up well for), he's also Kantaka the disfigured brother, and during a dream sequence he plays an horned satan. The films got a cool atmosphere with the zombies usually slowed down to add impact, the bloods bright red and the visuals in general are glossy. I wouldn't say its Naschy's best or an essential must own Euro horror, but its entertaining and well worth a view.

Bob Fisher and his wife Linda join his crazy Christian brother Jim on a boat trip to Costa Rica where he's to become a missionary. During an harsh storm their boat capsizes forcing the three to try and survive on limited rations until they're rescued.

Pretty dull Canadian TV film based on a true story. After 72 days being capsized, eventually the boat named the Triton was found 1000 miles off the US coast. Bob was the only survivor, Linda died during the trip and Jim died weeks later in hospital.

Entertaining documentary about the legendary exploitation film maker HG Lewis. It contains interviews with him his cast and crew including his main producer David F. Friedman. Also includes trailers, clips, out-takes and interviews with celebrity fans including John Waters, Frank Henenlotter and Joe Bob Briggs. The documentary covers everything from Lewis beginnings in nudies to his later more popular gore movies. The highlight is the segment they cover 2000 Maniacs which Lewis describes has his favorite picture, he even sang the theme tune which he does again live during the docs end credits. They take both Lewis and Friedman back to the small town it was made. Other great moments include Lewis speaking about how bad it was to work with Colonel Saunders, he only did it for free chicken. Also contains rare clips from the never finished/released An Eye for an Eye. Essential viewing for any self respecting exploitation movie fan.

A woman is terrorized by a maniac in her own apartment building while wearing only black lingere.

Unfairly marketed as a sexy Mexican version of a giallo/thriller, its more domestic drama that just so happens to have an hair obsessed killer among its characters. Isabella is a bored housewife, tired of the way her husband is treating her, and the fact she feels he's imprisoned her in their apartment. While on a shopping trip against her husbands wishes she strikes up a none sexual relationship with another man. As their friendship grows she needs to decide if she wants to stick in her loveless marrage or leave. Meanwhile a man living in her appartment block is going around assualting women and stealing hair samples. On the night of Isabella's decission her crazy neighbor progresses from just beating up women to killing them, when he slaughters a maid. He then turns his attention on Isabella who needs to fight for her life

Poor attempt at a thriller, offering next to none the 'terror' of its title. For most the duration the film seems purely intent on showing us how attractive its lead actress Maribel Guardia is (even getting topless a few times). Shame then that they couldn't have made her more sexy or promiscuous. Unless your seeking a marital drama I'd avoid Terror And Black Lace at all costs.

A husband and wife along with their son and another couple find themselves stuck in a rather sophisticated underground bomb shelter after a nuclear war, with there only contact with the outside world being a somewhat temperamental short-wave radio. But an affair between the son and the wife of their friend, along with boredom, drug abuse and diminishing supplies cause tempers to flare and things slowly descend in to desperation.

After a nuclear bomb has wiped out most of the US, Robert his wife Marge along with their son Chris (adopted son of Robert) and their neighbors Arthur and Carol are all shacked up together in Roberts state of the art bomb shelter. Their only contact is a lone radio signal they receive from another survivor named Peter. Due to the confined nature of being underground they slowly start to come undone. Carol has an affair with Chris, which causes friction among the two couples. It comes to an head when Arthur becomes sick and dies, shortly afterwards Chris who Carol suspects has killed her husband decides to go to the surface where he knows he'll eventually become sick and die from the radioactive fallout. Next Marge becomes ill and dies, and a clearer picture unfolds that Roberts planned the proceedings all along because hes become infatuated with Carol, wanting her to become Eve to his Adam.

Overly soapy plot twists and acting, and flat direction hampers what could have been a fantastic sleazy post apocalyptic film. The brief segment with Chris going top side as a lone survivor among the dead was pretty good and reminiscent of Charles Hestons Omega Man, but the highlight was actress Patty Shepard as the horny housewife Carol. She does a strip tease for all the group, wanders into Chris's room naked, then later during her sex scene with him delivers the films best line "those shrieks on the radio, sound like souls trapped in hell". The ending is really peculiar, it cuts to years before the bomb with both couples sitting in a garden, while Robert picks out his choice of shelter. Not sure if it was pointing at him having day dreamt the whole thing, or maybe having planned the whole thing years earlier, whatever its intention it failed. I wouldn't rush out of my way to see it again, but its worth at least one view, the only other film of the top of my head I remember being set in a shelter was Paul Bartels Shelf Life.

Short order fast food chef Frank (Rainn Wilson) has had two great moments in life, one helping the police when he was younger to catch a shop lifter, the 2nd was when he married the beautiful recovering alcoholic waitress Sarah (Liv Tyler). He can see his wife slowly drifting out of his hands for a local drug dealer (Kevin Bacon) but isn't man enough to do anything about it. When she finally leaves, Frank as a break down and seeks the comfort of a Television evangelist super hero named The Holy Avenger (Nathan Fillion). Frank as a brainstorm and decides he too can become a super hero and stand up to wrong doings. For preparation he goes to the local comic-book store, where he meets Libby (Ellen Page). After his first few steps into the crime fighting gain the news headlines, Libby works out its Frank and together they form the duo Crimson Bolt and Boltie. Franks number one task as the Crimson Bolt is to save his wife Sarah from the hands of the drug dealer shes shacked up with.

Fun film dealing with an everyday man, hell bent on cleaning up life's wrong doings. Its similar to the film Falling Down, with the added appeal of super heroes. The same idea's been done loads lately with films like Special, Kick-Ass and Defendor, Super doesn't offer that much different, its only diversion really is how far Frank will go concerning some of the most trivial matters, like the queue pusher he beats to a pulp with his weapon of choice a pipe wrench. Enjoyable for what it is, I loved Fillions Christian crime fighter character, cult fans will have fun spotting the likes of Michael Rooker (Henry:Portrait Of A Serial Killer), Lloyd Kaufman (Troma) and Rob Zombie as the voice of God.

Office worker Griff is a dreamer, whose never really fit into things, other than his bond with his brother he's never had a real relationship before. Instead he's slipped into a fantasy world where hes a super hero fighting the injustices he see's around him.

How to disappear completely, anyone expecting another irrelevant superhero tale along the lines of Special, Kick-Ass, Defendor or Super will be greatly disappointed. As Griff is purely a romantic tale about the age old saying that theres someone out there for everyone, no matter how bizarre or weird you you dress, it only really uses the costumed super hero as its backdrop. Even though its very slow paced I sort of enjoyed its small quirky feel, it reminded me of another small Oz movie Malcolm (1986). I was shocked to find out Ryan Kwanten who plays Jason in True Blood was an Australian, at least now I know why he does a pretty dodgy southern accent. He's really good here sticking to the lonely dreamer character, I was expecting him to get tough and end up with all the office women swooning, but that never happens. Very light hearted no real surprises but nice enough small film.

A never seen rape and revenge movie, produced by Fred Williamson.

On her first night as a taxi driver, beautiful Jenny (Catherine Hickland) picks up four young passengers who beat, rape and rob her. Unfortunately for Jenny, with the information including the phone and house number the gang stole, they continue to victimize her along with her parents. The final straw comes when Jens father (Chuck Connors) gets killed while at work. The following night Jen witnesses a violent mugging and decides enough is enough. She along with her her fellow female cab drivers form a vigilante team, hell bent on taking down the cities criminals.

Never officially released, the only available versions are 3rd generation copies taken from a pre completed workprint. Sadly the missing content includes the titles, credits, Chuck Connors death sequence and the entire Stelvio Cipriani score. What is left isn't much to shout about, the acting is emotionless more a kin to TV than feature films. The highlight for me was the scene Jen sexually lures one of the gang members to a warehouse with her friends waiting. The rape itself wasn't shown, it cuts to a blur and fades out. And theres only the hint of violence, never actually any onscreen. As racy as it gets is the odd swear word chiefly Connors calling the gang cock suckers, and a final scene when a car explodes. Its hard to judge how a finished version would have held up, but its safe to say its not in the same league as other rape revenge tales like MS.45 and Death Wish.

A girl returns from the dead to gain her revenge on a gang of thugs that raped and murdered her.

Wild supernatural rape n revenge movie from Indonesia, director H. Tjut Djalil also made the equally mad Mystics in Bali. I watched it without subtitles so what is going on is pure guess work. The film wastes no time as we see back flashes of a gang rape before the credits role, then we see a woman rise from a grave completely clean and dressed up. Even her dog rises from the grave with her, no doubt to keep the ghost company. No sooner as she fed her dog some glass (must be the stable diet of ghost dogs) shes ripping the guts out of a local thug, then feeding his innards to the dog. Next up our ghost decides to jump into the body of another thug making him jive, she eventually finishes the guy off by way of detaching her head and munching on him, she then makes a brief visit to her family. The following morning the gang gather together in the hope of learning what is attacking their members, at which point one of the them as a back flash of the rape earlier. This time shown in more detail. He puts two and two together and figures the gang deaths and rape are connected, and tries to resolve the matter by speaking with a local priest. The priest gets involved as much to aid the thugs, as to help the female ghost find peace.

Given the rape murder subject matter the film is oddly pure comic in tone, not really adding much for the die hard horror or exploitation fans. The deaths are inventive enough though, including the the now ubiquitous flying head. The final of the film gets weird with people disappearing and appearing at random, all the spirit cloning and body jumping left me puzzled. Theres also a truly bizarre haunted tongue moment, it splits into a mouth complete teeth, mini tongues and a baby which was maybe hinting at the woman being pregnant during her death. Even watching a substandard copy I enjoyed it, sadly unlike Mystics in Bali, its never seen a western release. So finding a copy in any state regardless of it being original or subtitled is a mission.

The film tells the story of a young Russian in early 90s, trying to escape the army in a psychiatric clinic and after intensive compulsory treatment released years later. Then as a documentary film maker he gets involved in Chechen conflict. There he meets his apparent death and between life and death he recalls his life and realizes it as a life of a whole generation.

Russian director Igor Voloshin's semi autobiographic story about his life growing up in 90's Russia. 'I Am' follows young Geroi, whose youth was spent mostly hanging with his mates on the streets looking for his next way to get wasted. Now a young man having been beaten and abused by the authorities, hes put in a criminal mental institute. The film follows his struggle inside the institute, and the even darker internal struggle he faces. Instead of facing the grim reality of his situation, he does his best to keep himself drugged out of his mind in a dreamlike fantasy world, where his remembered past intertwine with his re-imagined present.

Imagine if the addicts in Trainspotting got taken to the mental asylum featured in 12 Monkeys. Highly enjoyable drugged out fantasy drama, featuring a fantastic range of colorful hyper stylized visuals. Most the film takes place in the hazy institutionalized mind of the central character Geroi played superbly by Artur Smolyaninov, kinda like hes Fight Clubs Tyler Durdon. The plot is padded out with various meetings with a female doctor named Nina (Oksana Akinshina) great looking eye candy. These meetings usually spark some back story of his wasted youth and regret, as he remembers his life growing up. These parts introduce his old friends like the popular junky dealer come guru Rom (featuring a movie stealing performance by actor Aleksey Gorbunov). The film does have a few minor weak areas, I could have lived without the obvious religious imagery like walking on water and being nailed to a cross. Also the labored style of the eventual resolve, its good the director mentions the friends he's lost and infairness its done with great style. It just felt some what unfitting like 'Iggy Pop' singing 'Lust for Life' then ending it with a 'But You Don't Wanna Live It' disclaimer. I HIGHly enjoyed it, not many Russian film makers become known outside of the eastern bloc, but from what I've seen so far from director/writer Igor Voloshin (this and his short film Atlantic) he could very well be in that few who do. I even hear hes working with the team behind the Russian hit Night Watch next.

This movie belongs to the "quinqui" genre, i.e. tales of impoverished teenagers having sex, taking drugs or trying to score a fix by selling their bodies. Basically, it's Pasolini's "Ragazzi di vita" in the post-Regime Spain. Like the italian novelist and filmmaker, in fact, Eloy de la Iglesia used to cast young non-professional actors to play themselves: José Luis Manzano and "Pirri" actually were uneducated and unemployed kids bound to tragically die of an overdose or AIDS. However, "El Pico" features an interesting variation on the fixed "quinqui" formula: in this movie, in fact, the troubled teen protagonists are the son of a politician and the son of a General.

While on a stake out, two hit men tell each other tales to relieve the boredom. When they eventually find the location of their contract things get out of hand, because the dead start rising.

Hungarian amateur zombie nonsense, that from what I could make out, was trying to go for a Pulp Fiction meets Night of the Living Dead vibe. The film started extremely slow and was very wordy, I didn't have subtitles so not sure if the dialog was good or not. Some of the low rent gore towards the final was fun enough. At just under an hour it doesn't have enough action, shame the director didn't just release it as a 20 min short.

Horror short, collaborative video project.

Short horror collaboration from members of the cinemageddon cult film community. TotB doesn't so much follow a scripted plot but mixes various vignets together around the rough theme of a contaminated water supply. It's real home made, shoe string movie making of the lowest variety, made by fans for fans. But has the unique twist that one member films their segment than hands it to the next member and so on. Its only 5 minutes long, so should be seen more as a toe dipping exercise than fully realized project. That will no doubt, knowing the cinemageddon clan, grow into something so much more. I personally had as much fun with this short as I did with most the ones on the Troma dance collections. And who knows what the future holds for these guys. As it stands over 400 people have seen it, so if just a small % of those show interest in a future production whose to say where it could end.

A man and his daughter ask a holy mystic to help them track down the son who's been away on a spiritual journey for 14 years. Only on finding their son it turns out he has risen to the state of a Aghori God (must mean a god on earth). Gods aren't aloud to have bonds with humans so he is ordered to travel back to his home village, to end his ties with his family, before he can return to his spiritual life. Only he ends up staying in the village, helping a blind beggar stand up against a sadistic people trader and his gang.

Bollywood is one of the few world movie markets I've never fully embraced, for no other reason than, no matter what genre the film, they always contained impromptu song and dance moments, and musicals aren't me. On the surface 'I Am God' is no exception only its more in keeping with a tradition samurai movie or spaghetti western. Visually its fantastic, the music/sound is rich and the story is amazingly puzzling. Did I enjoy it, hell yeah. Did I have a clue what was going on, for most part hell no. The moral ground it takes was also beyond me, take the son, evens though he is meant to be a god, he's lazy smokes opium most the times hes awake, and beats up anyone who pisses him off including women and the police. Another thing is I've never seen as many people with pysical disabilities deformities in a feature film, even Tod Brownings Freaks pales alongside it. Oddly it is these moments with the beggars that I enjoyed the most, theres a real natural feeling to the scenes like the legendary dueling banjo scene from Deliverance or that Mama Sunshine musical number from that Todd Solandz movie, these parts would usually make you feel depressed or angry at the way they are being exploited but strangely the scenes have a great sense of humour and warmth. The squeaky voiced Samuel L Jackson looking guy and his laughing midget sidekick could have become a great comedy duo, I was so hoping they would have given them a Pulp Fiction type of diner moment together. Excellent movie that has deserved its praise among cult and world movie fans.

Four ex classmates get together to celebrate the pregnancy of one of them. The venue chosen for the party is a country house located one hour away from the city.

Spanish thriller following five female friends gathering at a country estate, one member being pregnant. They're there to celebrate the forthcoming birth, but what starts like a serene weekend trip, turns nasty between the friends as they start to fall out among themselves and become bitchy. Things only go from bad to worse as one of the women becomes sick, another goes missing then one gets raped.

Flashy gore and a few good twists don't really save Baby Shower. Its far from bad but it just doesn't have enough charisma to stand out from the endless amount of like for like thrillers floating around. I'd skip it unless it surfaces in a DVD bargain bin or on cable.

Three bumbling criminals have been trying to get their hands on the computerized control system of Mr. Twister, a talking monster truck with a mind of its own. Our trio decides to take one last shot at the truck, this time with a M60 Army tank!

Rednecks mechanics Kelly, Dutch and Bear hatch a cunning plan to steal a 250.000 dollar AI computer navigated big foot truck named Twister, from local racer Dave and his soon to be wife Sherry. Things go wrong for the hapless trio, instead of getting the prize winning monster truck, they end up kidnapping Shelly and holding her hostage, in the hope of getting ransom from her rich father. It's up to Dave and Twister to rescue the girl and settle the score with the criminals.

Side splitting funny b-movie gem, that you can't help but feel if it had been released 10 years earlier, before the VHS gore period, when drive-in's were in their heyday, it would have been regarded as cult classic. Twister sits someplace between between Knight Rider and Dukes of Hazard, say a backwards cousin if you like. The three villains are hilarious especially Bear who makes Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber look like Einstein. The chats with Dave and the kitt like Mr Twister are also comedy gold. Low budget Estonian born b-movie guru Bill Rebane must have friends in demolishing and car breaking because what Twister's Revenge lacks in budget it makes up for in vehicle and building crushing. If you take Twister's for what it is, pure childish and none offensive entertainment, you'll have a blast. It even contains a truly bizarre bar scene, which I've made a link to below, its packed with loads of classic movie homage's like 'Star Wars' legendary Mos Eisley Cantina bar scene, Jack Nicholson's 'Hell's Angels on Wheels' the 'She's Lost That Loving Feeling' segment from 'Top Gun'. The singer even looks like Divine so could be a nod to John Waters.So much fun, highly recommended.

Set in Middle America, a group of teens receive an online invitation for sex, though they soon encounter fundamentalists with a much more sinister agenda.

Three adolescents are lured to a trailer home on the promise they can get group sex with an older women. Only it transpires they've been set up by a crazed local preacher of a Christian fundamentalist sect known as the five point church. The sect is composed largely of members from the same extended family. Anyone the preacher deems as being a sexual sinner is killed. The teens only chance of survival, is a set of goverment agents, that have been called in to search the church on the grounds of them stock piling firearms.

Kevin Smith known more for his comedy films than anything of a more serious nature, delivers a real mixed bag of styles with Red State, it's a little bit of drama here, a little of survival horror there, then padded out with chunks of social, religious and political satire. For me it never really worked due to the childish almost tabliod news approach of its script, shares in tone the same over sensationalized approach of Natural Born Killers but did not succeed nearly as well. Another of the problems for me is the films characters are all pretty unlikeable so it was hard really to take a stand, as to which side was actually right or wrong. Does have a couple of good performances by Michael Parks as the nutty constant hymn singing Richard Branson looking preacher and Kaylee Defer as a teen cultist trying to protect the churchs kids. I would not go out of my way to rewatch it, avoid or maybe grab a casual view when it airs on television.

The sequel to Laid to Rest, that brings back ChromeSkull, who barely escaped death in the first movie and is hell-bent on continuing where he left off... and forging a new path of terror and destruction.

Following directly on from the circumstances in the first film, a dubious police investigator finds Chromeskull barely alive needing extensive eye and facial reconstruction. At the killers side is what would have been his final victim, she somehow gets violently killed that same night even though Chromeskull is getting medical treatment. The story jumps forward three months and Chromey is back on his feet having been helped by a clandestine company, who plan on using the masked maniac as their own killing machine, even sorting him out with his own personalized cache of blades and weapons.

Sticking to the same formula that made the first film so successful, showering the viewer with an endless array of gory set pieces. Sadly they've not improved on the originals flaws, this being unsatisfactory character development and nonsensical plot. In fact Laid to Rest 2 adds an even more unbelievable feeling with the now obligatory use of quick edited cctv/phone/video camera footage. I am sure the simply amused Saw/Hostel type of horror buff will be ranking this as one of the horrors of 2011, and I will agree its nice to see really traditional FX of this caliber. I would have just liked to have some depth to the proceedings, actors who do not look uncomfortable on film and a director who can add tension and atmosphere between kills. If the producers could improve those areas, the third outing (which is hinted at after the final credits) would rank as a modern classic and not just successful fluff.

A severely dysfunctional family gathers at a snow covered, isolated mansion in the winter. There the family members including the father, an arrogant surgeon who may have murdered his wealthy wife expose each others' secrets, with surprising results.

Newly wed Thomas alongside his wife Marie return back to his families mansion, that is owned by his rich brain surgeon father Andreas. Thomas aim's to murder him for his wealth. Only one hurdle stands between the young couple and the inheritance, Andreas lawyer has stated only one son gets the lot and he cannot share who that will be. So its either prove to Andreas that it should be theirs or kill the other brother Jack. Thomas persuades Maria to sleep with his father in the hope the excitement will be enough to take him out of the picture. Only Andreas is not as frail as he seems and has a truly shocking agenda lined up for his new daughter-in law.

Extremely odd and perverse Canadian movie, the plots muddled throughout but at least it's never predictable, especially the bizarre final. Marie 'Lydie Denier' really smolders onscreen, she has the chic of Audrey Hepburn and mystery of Isabella Rossellini all rolled up in one. Marie not only sleeps with the son his brother and father, she even strips naked and strokes the families dying grandfather. Some of the sexual encounters are forced, due to her being drugged. There is a real incestuous tone throughout the movie that becomes really weird when we reach the films headfuck of a climax. I'll be honest part way into the story I was expecting it to surface at some point that she was the sister, especially due to no women being in the house. Blood Relations isn't that obvious and will pull the carpet from under most viewers feet. I'd never really known of the director Graeme Campbell before, it came as a shock when I found out he'd gone from sleazy shit like this to kids TV stuff, like Degrassi Street and Blake Holsey High. Damn now I've gotta rank it and it's really hard, the ending and sleaze factor would deserve a high score, yet the overall film and messy plot would probably be in the low to mid range. Worth seeking out, if you are after exploitation add 2 to the rank, if you want a well paced thriller take away 2.

Occult Euro oddity.

The film starts with a group of satanic cultists dancing and stripping while a female voice gives us a bit of a monolgue. "It started that night, when we subbmitted to him we call our lord, and surrenderd our bodies to his will. We were young and dreamed of the power he'd bestow on us, a power that would raise us above the normal run of humanity. Was not long before we relized the price we'd have to pay was a terrible one, that would involve not only us but our children as well" Turns out the speech is from a former cultist who suspects her 13 year old daughter Daria as fallen under the control of the former cults leader whose possibly lucifer himself. He uses her to exact his revenge on members who betrayed him.

No doubt made as a quick cash-in as a response to the horror hits of the time like The Exorcist and The Omen though the director claims otherwise saying it was based on a novel he wrote in the 60's and similarites to those 2 films was due to studio pressure. That said ripoff or not this is fun low budget supernatural nonsense fron Itally. Lara Wendel (Tenebre/Maladolesenza/Perfume of the Lady in Black/Ghosthouse) who plays the devil girl Daria is fantastic in her evil role. The soundtrack is awsome too and was re-hased for the film Pieces. My only real complaint was due to it being harder to find than gold dust (unreleased in a worthwhile version since the early 80's, possibly due in no small part to the brief under age nudity of actress Lara Wendel who was born in '65, Rings Of Darkness was filmed back in '77 making her only around twelve) which meant I had to suffer a 2nd generation vhs transfer to dvd that got released in the US as Satan's Wife. The ending offered the chilling scene of Daria walking towards the vatican, that hinted at a possible sequel which sadly was never made. Theres much speculation about the various runtimes/cuts on the European vhs's as well, with some fans claiming there could be prints exisiting upwards of 100 minutes, when it was submitted to the Italian censors in '79 it was listed as being 91 mins the vhs releases in existance are around 84-87 minutes mark, so whats missing is pure speculation. After finishing directing this in October 1977 Pier Carpi started shooting a film called 'IL Mago e La Svastica/The Wizard and the Swastika' with many of the Ring Of Darkness cast alongside Max Von Sydow but it was never finished or released and he never got to direct again. It's hard to recommend and say I enjoyed this without looking like someone who defends the use of naked youngsters on film, being a father myself is something of course I would never try and defend. But putting that thorny issue aside, it must be noted that the rest of Ring is without a question one of the best supernatural Eurosleaze movies I've seen.

Euro thriller.

A model Gail Bland is ordered to travel to Egypt for a promotional job with a company named Isis Cosmetics. Soon after arriving she learns the company isn't real and that she's been summoned due to her likeness of a cults goddess named Isis. Thankfully Mrs Bland isn't on her own and she's helped by a man named Caleb, only there's more to her helpfull stranger than it seems.

Occult Italian thriller, that is no wonder to me that its been practically unseen for decades. The premise is good but there's too many pauses in its action and the central plot, not even the added spice of seeing Daniela Giordano and Krista Nell in a lesbian embrace adds enough to warrant viewing. I'm sure drug movie film fans will be slightly interested in the use of doped cigeretes. Which leads me to an interesting bit of trivia I'd found on fantastic thewildeye blog concerning two of the films cast William Berger and his then wife Carolyn Lobravico a short time after filming this during the night of August 4th in 1970 they was both arrested for hashish possession by the Neapolitan police, and sent to a criminal lunatic asylum. In the October, Carolyn had died of acute peritonitis brought on by hepatitis while still incarcerated, the government refused her medical treatment. Claiming they had thought her terrible pain was due to drug withdrawl, Berger was left in prison until March the following year. Really sad case that goes to prove the old adaj that celebrity life isn't all its cracked up to be. Anyhow to some it up Shadow Of Illusion could have been an interesting Wickerman type look at occult cultists, but sadly it never hits the nail on the head. I personally found it boring and would be hard pushed to truthfully recommend it, even to the most die hard European sleaze fan.

Fun fraternity house comedy/horror thats feels like they've stuck two seperate films together. The first half its 100% Animal House college humor, second half turns into a killathon 80's teen slasher. It's success is down in a large part to the enormasly over acted performance of Dan as the possessed frat boy gone nuts. Maybe too low budget feeling for some tastes, but thats never stopped me liking a film and I enjoyed Pledge Night emmensly, and would recommend it to anyone seeking a none brain straining movie to fill an hour and half.

An anthology of five tales of terror, each originally produced for video. The titles are "Something's Fishy," "Coffee Break," "Who's There," "Jonah's Dream," and "Think Twice."

Antholgy horror yarn featuring 6 shot on video tales introduced by horror legend Vincent Price. The first story 'Something's Fishy' is about a man fishing, he see's an apple on the floor only on eating it ends up hooked on a fishing line ending up being dragged under the water. Next is 'Coffee Break' about a lost delivery man driving through a rural area named Harmony, one of the locals recommends he stop by a local coffee shop before giving him directions. The the young delivery man ignores his recommendation and ends up driving in a continous loop on the same roads. Third story is 'Who's There' about creatures escaping from a medical lab and chasing a man jogging. The fourth story is 'Jonah's Dream' featuring an unsuccessful gold prospector getting a ufo visit. The fifth tale is 'Think Twice' following an homeless man and a magical crystal, that when activated grants him his wishes. The final tale concerns the man who's been watching the shorts and features Price himself, as a sinister video host in a reality horror prank.

Light direct to video film that contains nothing an episode of Goosebumps wouldn't show. Nonetheless its always a treat seeing Price hamming it up and giving us one of his Thriller laughs, that said it only uses him for 5 or so minutes, so was most likely done for the quick pay day. Best saved if you ever find yourself in charge of a 6 year old while its raining outside.

Two young women, Elizabeth and Taylor, travel to their father´s summer home on a remote island for a vacation getaway. As they travel deeper into the island, a nightmare begins to unfold. An unmarked white van will not leave them be, as they begin to sink deeper into terror. It becomes clear to the women they are not welcome as a group of masked killers begin to torment, torture, and hack them to bits. What secrets does this island hold and what lengths will they go to preserve them?

Two women decide to take a trip to one of their dad's remote summer homes, only things get out of control when a creepy mask wearing guy tries to run them off the road. The two women soon find out the rural island doesn't take strongly to strangers coming, and they turn a blind eye on a local gang of three masked maniacs. Fortunatly one of the girls manages to contact her dad who lives 15 miles away, but can he make it in time to save her life.

Made in a very glossy grindhouse manner, it trys to rehash the 70's slasher, even to point of trying to market it as being banned in 47 country's. It's trouble is because it takes a 'play it out for the action' and not 'for its story' approach, Death Stop Holocaust feels lacking and hollow. There's zero character depth for either the victims, the dad or any of towns folk and killers. Still worth seeing, it runs under an hour and half and holds its tension pretty well.

A stranger with mysterious intentions comes to stay the night at a secluded country home, but what he finds inside is a family torn apart by a violent past and a secret more deadly than he expected.

Slow paced horror concerning the Smith family, Marilyn and Matt and their teens Gloria and Quentin. Due to an accident years earlier they live reclusive lives alongside a Midwestern backroad. Only a stranger Nick knocks on their door asking for shelter for the night, due to his car breaking down. The Smiths begrudging accept, which leads to a night of terror and a shocking family secret surfacing.

The Bleeding House as an interesting background story but is harmed by slow pacing and too many dull moments with no action. Bar a few scenes it feels more like a made for Television mystery than a modern horror film. The actings solid though with Patrick Breen great as the Southern preaching weirdo and Alexandra Chando doing well as the agnst ridden animal killing teen daughter. Definetly not the worst or best film I've seen in 2011, but a fair first attempt by Writer/Director Philip Gelatt.

STORYLINE : Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-MEN.

Entertaining fourth entry in the x-men franchise, this time an origin story of Prof X and Magneto. Not sure why it flew through the cinema's so quickly as its as good as the previous three entry's and heaps better than the tragic first Wolverine origin tale. James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Kevin Bacon were all great, I was particularly impressed with Michael Fassbender as Magneto. Not gonna bother going to in depth as there's 1000s of reviews already online, I liked it my only niggle was the Ron Weasley looking kid who could fly with sonic waves, the effects they used looked terrible.

Moviemaking is no way to spend a life.

Cheap and cheerful documentary about low budget horror films and the people who create them. Being a fan its actually nice to see that the folks behind the scenes are more interesting than most their output. Directors like Ron Atkins who made the equally shit yet funny Scizophreniac films, he might not have earned big money but hes clearly had fun and managed to pick up a beautiful wife. The bigger names included like Joe Bob Briggs, HG Lewis and Lloyd Kaufman are all brief interviews caught on spec while they're at book signings or conventions that don't really add much. Still its worth a view if your a low budget horror nut like me.

Director James Felix McKenney takes us on a wild and explosive journey to Hell and brings some of the most notable legends of the horror genre along for the ride.

When Syamoto's teenage daughter is caught stealing, a generous middle-aged man helps resolve the situation. The man and his wife offer to have Syamoto's troublesome daughter work at their fish store. Syamoto soon discovers the horrific truth of the seemingly perfect couple.

Based loosely on a real life murder case known as the 'Saitama serial murders of dog lovers' that happened back in 1993, which involved a dog breeder and his wife being charged with four known murders, with others unproven but rumored to have happened. Cold Fish changes the details placing the man as a tropical fish salesman, who befriends another shop owner, slowly enticing him into his sadistic world. I'd heard various comments before viewing and was under the impression it was going to be this years Visitor Q, there is a few brief glimpses of that film within Cold Fish but overall it leaves the viewer with a totally different expierence, its more in the same unglamourous tradition of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer but with an added mix of family life and social commentary. The films tone is exceptionally bleak with each of its characters as negative and desperatly unhappy as the next, you wouldn't want to trade your life for any of them. The acting is for most part exceptional espiecally by its two central leads 'Denden as mood swinging sadistic maniac Murata' and 'Makoto Ashikawa as the anxiety ridden stooge Syamoto' whose too weak a personality to stand up for himself and stop being led into such a dark world. Without a question one of the better movies to come out of Japan this year, its only draw back being it feels at times that its being drawn out to fill its two hour plus duration, could have easily been cropped by 20-30 minutes without losing plot or action.

Friends Uno and Toshida pursued their married friend Nakatsu to visit a sex parlour, with the simple aim that all three of them will get some sex. Only the place they pick 'Shogan Massage Palour' as a secret, that being its prostitutes kill their clients for the sole enjoyment of their boss, who watches in via hidden camera's. Thankfully Nakatsu having picked out an hooker named Nagisa doesn't have the heart to continue, so she takes pity on him and agrees to help him try to and rescue his friends.

Been a real steady supply of these Japanese action gore flicks recently featuring either cosplay costumed or naked girls. Horny House of Horror is one of the more entertaining entrys, largly down to the fact its story is so simple, resembling a cross between a typical Jap gore actioner and HG Lewis Gore Gore Girls. Its crammed with gory warped moments from fridges full of jarred penises to nipple's and cocks being chopped off with samuari swords. The highlight is the use twice of 'metal jaws' once covering over a vagina before intercourse the second has a set of teeth. Though some would see it as too crude and infantile I enjoyed it, the downside is the run-time was again just slightly over the hour mark, it makes me wonder if the whole populas of Japan doesn't have some kind of attention problem. To make it more attractive to customers, the distributors should really package 2 films per release.

Ken is a wandering and unassuming serial killer who enters a forsaken and empty diner during the graveyard shift. After a long conversation with the diner's lone waitress Rose, Ken kills her and promptly delivers the same fate to the diner's cook Fred. As Ken cleans up the bloody mess and deposits Rose and Fred in the walk-in freezer, company arrives. A young, unhappy married couple Rob and Kathy stop by the diner only to be followed by the arrival of Sheriff Duke Purdett. Ken now finds himself in the middle of a rousing game of cat and mouse which he manages well until the unthinkable happens. Back from the dead, Rose and Fred emerge from the freezer and start walking around! Once an unflappable serial killer, Ken now holds the young couple and wounded sheriff captive, trying frantically to escape the zombie predators.

A lone wandering young killer walks into a truckstop diner during its graveyard shift and kills the waitress and cook. Before he can dispose of the bodies the diner gets two new customers, a couple who are on the brink of separating. So the killer pretends he's running the place, which seems to work until a local sheriff whose familiar with the food joint turns up asking where everybody is, its then that they notice the once dead cook and waitress have risen from the dead and acting peculiar.

Running in at little over an hour this seems more in keeping with an episode of Amazing Stories than a typical modern horror movie. The characters are quirky enough and well enough acted but its just too tame a zombie romp that's squarely played for comic value (than say for action or chills) which for me at least, it failed to achieve as it wasn't actually funny. Not the worst zomcom out there, but there's many many more worth checking out before this.

But just as salvation appears to be in reach, the base suffers an overwhelming defeat at the hands of the living dead! The surviving handful of troops and civilians must now make their way to the coast to uncover the truth behind the message. Their perilous journey takes them across a now treacherous, death-ravaged landscape, where the living dead are vast in number and wandering bandits impose their own malicious sense of law and order. What follows is a journey into hell and a desperate battle against all odds for the very survival of the human race.

Picking up around the same period as the first Zombies Diaries, this time just following one group of survivors a small set of terrortial army recruits. Even though they're armed they still face the same hazards as any survivor which is primery the undead masses, but also with dwindling food, clean water and medical supplys they also need to fight off a gang of backwards rural survivors.

With having watched both parts 1 and 2 back to back, I came into this one fearing the worse, but I'm glad to say I was proven wrong. Its still no '28 Days/Weeks Later' but its a massive improvement over the first film, clearly due to its improved budget, which in turn as been spent on real actors, helps also that they actually spent a little time on the plot and dialogue. Also unlike its predecessor Zombie Diaries 2 has even got a decent ammount of undead (they don't actually call them zombies within the film itself). Downside again for me at least was how serious it takes itself, a little bit of humour once in while wouldn't have gone a miss, the rape scene seemed tacked on more than being essential to the plot, but who knows by the 3rd outing they could have a breakthrough like Dog Soldiers on their hands.

Brace yourself... This time it's for real.

The film compiles various video diaries, following groups of survivors in the aftermath of a bird flu like virus that has hit the UK. Causing the dead rise and kill. The undead arn't the only problem as some of the survivors are going mad, doing as they please and taking what they want by any means necessary.

I'm watching this direct to video low budget English zombie yarn pretty late, having passed on the chance of viewing it years earlier due to lack of interest, I'm only seeing it now due to recently receiving a sequel. Interesting idea having you follow multiple camera weilding groups, its just a shame the locations they use are all the same bland farmyards and their surounding areas. Instead of say more populated up built places like the supermarket in Dawn Of The Dead. Zombie Diaries just hasn't the same style or substance as the similiar found footage themed zombie film [rec] or Romero's Diary Of The Dead, that said I've seen far worse zombie movies in my life (its a busy sub-genre), it was just too dull for my tastes, so would have to say Zombie Diaries is only suitable for the more undemanding zombie fans.

Trapped in a forgotten amusement park, a young woman finds herself terrorized by the living memories of the park. She must break free from the park’s grasp before she becomes its next victim.

The story concerns a micro budget film production crew who've lived near an old rundown fairground for years, knowing full well how people are suckers for such things they have the genius idea of making a goosebumps style tale but passing it off as an adult horror movie. Only due to lack of talent or an original thought manage to waste almost 2 hours of film fans time (mine included).

Well sorry about that but needed to be done, the true story is actually a great deal less interesting. Its about a young woman Kirsty being stuck in a trapped in a long closed fairground, with her mind in a constant loop of dreams and past memory's. Turns out Kirsty had lost a teddy bear at the fair when she was a kid, while she searched she met two boys that would end up in accidents that brought about their early deaths.

Some horror films test if your man enough to see it all, this one just tests your endurance to boredom. Its a turgid waste of film that if it wasn't for a few crude lines of mild sexual dialogue and a scene a clown gets a stake in his eye, would have been perfect Halloween viewing for a your 5 year old. I would have award it a Turkey score of 2, but the acting is not so bad from the three leads, especially the ghost clown. Skip it.

A dying old man tells his daughter, a young and aggressive journalist, to find a box in his house. He makes her promise not to open it, and immediately burn it. However, she cannot resist her curiosity and finds documents, letters and clippings inside the box that reveal that her father was the suspect in a murder case 25 years ago. She decides to find out the truth.

While sat in an hospital room at the bedside of her dying father, Marianne a journalist is asked by him for one last favor. He asks her to destroy boxes he has back at his apartment but not to open them. Marianne thanks to a little coaxing from a newly made friend opens one of the boxes and reads one of the letters it contains, she learns that her father whom was a priest had been accused of murder 25 years earlier in a small rural village of Skogmark. So its left to Marianne to either try put the letters out of mind and forget what shes seen or travel to village and try to uncover the truth and if her father was involved in a pregnant woman's death.

This co Norwegian/Swedish production from late nineties feels like it could have been made ten years earlier. During the early stages it reminded me somewhat of recent film The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo but its interesting premise is all but wasted due to its painfully pedestrian pace and almost total lack of action, which is a shame as the rural feel and general odd tone (including an hotel room peeping tom and local butcher who seems to enjoy his work a little too much) could have made this mystery into something so much more rewarding. Oh and for anyone whose wondering why its named Cellofan, its taken from a scene the dying priest is smothered and almost killed by the cellophane wrapping from a bunch of flowers.

An American named Anthony is living and working in Tokyo and married to a Japanese woman. When their son is killed by the same driver who creates the Tetsuos in the previous films, he makes the transformation into Tetsuo.

A man named Antony is out walking down a street with his son, only while he's busy on the phone the young boy ends up being hit by a speeding car that later drives off. With the rage at losing his son mixed with iron that's accidentally entered his bloodstream, he ends up turning into a metallic android. He's now driven with the lone aim of avenging his son by going after the man responsible.

The Bullet Man is the second unsuccessful sequel to the legendary cult film Tetsuo. The first worked on a small budget as surreal cyberpunk fantasy with quick cutting interesting visuals, the Pt2 Body Hammer was very much the exact same film remade at greater cost that somehow lost its appeal and came off as bland. This 3rd entry coming decades later feels more like a parody of the series than an official entry directed Shinya Tsukamoto. Even with a running time of just over an hour I was praying for it to end, and sadly when it did end it left you with one of those 'ohh god no' they've set a future entry up.

A low-budget supernatural murder mystery filmed with a bare minimum of homemade special effects succeeds brilliantly in creating a truly inhuman, otherworldly atmosphere you won't want to experience again in a hurry.

Slow paced Russian psychological ghost story, when a mother and her child are found dead from a suspected murder then suicide. An investigator tries to uncover the truth behind the incident, only things arn't as clear as what they at first seemed, and his leads start to follow suite and commit suicide, can he help her sister and daughter from the same fate.

Prikosnoveniye really outshines its clear low budget restraints, thanks greatly to its grown up somber tone and thought provoking story, it features one of the most unhollywood endings I've ever seen. Recommended but as far as I can tell it never got a release outside of Russia, so unless your fortunate enough (like I was) to stumble over a fansubbed version or actually speak Russian you'll find it hard to fully appriecate.

We Await Charles Pinions Follow up to his master work Red Spirit Lake is so different from any other movie ever created that I do not know if I am Smart enough to Judge it. The story line has something to do with a strange family allot of fungus and even has a grown man for a dog. Amanda Collins who played Marilin in Red Spirit lake plays Xena in this one and once again makes the movie at least worth watching. Their are some murders and shots of San Francisco but the really trippy scenes in this movie seem to bleed the sick underside of San Francisco all over the screen and left me wondering what the hell was going on! I suggest any one that watches this movie to get into some sort of altered state before hand and maybe then it will make sense.

Corpses are turning up in Hong Kong mortuaries and hospitals with their brains missing, a local celebrated inspecter is trying to solve the crime. He's slowly led to a seedy unauthorised doctor named Kwok, who's got a booming trade in everything from illeagal abortions to unorthodox medication, we later find out our not so good doctor as been doing it to turn his sick midget daughter into a normal sized healthy child.

Wild Hong Kong catIII sporting a truly bizarre and extremely uneven plot. Nothing really makes sense but thats one of the unique aspects of the film, because everytime it lacks logic (which is pretty much its entire duration) it just adds in a warped scene like the crazy character going around eating live animals or a mad self harming midget muscle man who takes out his frustraition by beating up a poster of Sylvester Stalone. Its pretty mild compared to other more notorious catIII's but how can the lure of a killer midget not warrant most cult movie fans attentions.

A maker of really bad movies is showing his product. He´s rejected. He gets copies of some movies by Britain´s so-called King of Horror. There are a lot of different horror movies. One of them is a cheap zombie movie. Another features a mummy. There´s a bad vampire and awful werewolf film. In the real world, a skull masked killer is going around and murdering people. It seems to be connected to the making of a horror movie. Who could the killer be?
Slimeball producer William King rips off crap horror director Alistar Bailey, so Bailey alongside Kings secretary decide to get revenge on him and his small production team. For most the films duration the down on his luck director sits in his bedsit and spends his time sulking and and watching video nasties that poorly parody films like Hammer's Dracula, The Exorcist and Mad Max. The director then goes on a murder spree while filming the deaths for his latest stinker.

The films director Michael J. Murphy as stated he made the film as an attack on film distributers he'd had problems with, which kind of backfired because Bloodstream failed to secure a distribution deal so nobody got to see it. Its real zero budget fair from the UK, the acting is dire grade z stuff yet something about the feel and attitude kept me some what entertained and curious for its duration. Its not really recommended but if you do stumble over it and have an hour to kill theres worse junk out there, horror fans will no doubt have fun guessing some of the obvious references, I'm still puzzled why the secretary was obsessed with James Stewart but doubt I'll lose sleep over it or even remember Bloodstream in days or weeks to come.
