Deadwood Park (2007)

Deadwood Park (2007)
Director: Eric Stanze
Writers: Jessie Seitz, Eric Stanze
The small community of Eidolon Crossing once boasted a flourishing economy and great prosperity, fueled by Dogwood Park, an amusement park at the edge of town. Then the child murders began. Jake and his parents moved away from Eidolon Crossing shortly thereafter. Now an adult, Jake is drawn back to Eidolon Crossing, the town where his brother was taken from him.
'You've got to respect Eric Stanze what he lacks in money he makes up for in respect for his genre, here turning his hand at an epic horror based around a small broken towns amusement park and long running case of child disappearances. The film spans a period from wwII to present day I mean who else in the low budget circles would even attempt that. It does have a few major flaws one being out of his hands in casting amater actors the other is the at times painfully sedate pacing, might of been a wiser idea not try to do a 2 hour film. Stanze though proves again he's gifted and the kind of talent a Lionsgate or Masters Of Horror should be looking at recruiting. Most other low budget horror directors aim either at the shock market like say your August Undergrounds of the world or the formula horror market like goth vampires or cheesy low rent zombies. Stanze aims higher and does well at cost imagine what he'd do with money behind him.'
