Seventeen years ago, a group of undersea monsters emerged on a small coastal town, slaughtered a handful of citizens, and returned to the ocean--never to be seen again. Vanessa, an oceanographer who also happens to be the daughter of one of the victims, has a feeling that they will come back. She urges the mayor to keep people off the beaches for the upcoming Fourth of July weekend. He will wish that he had listened to her.
