Life imitates art for a horror film director in Savage Harvest 2 the sequel to Eric Stanze independant horror film. The director's world is sent into turmoil after a death on the set of his latest production...but the bloodletting doesn't stop there.
'Savage Harvest was never Eric Stanze best film, so why after 12 years Wicked Pixel have decided to do a sequel is beyond me. This time writing and directing is handed over to Jason Christ. Plots about a director who comes back to his childhood home after a horrible accident on one of his films lead to an actress being killed. Only his local town isn't without its own shocking history as we learn about a massacre that happened years ago. Basicly its a painfully over talky zero budget demon movie. Bar the odd flashback it takes way too long for any action to happen or for the demons to start gut chomping and sadly when they do its barely that thrilling. We get pick axe deaths and chainsaw hacking but its so dark during most we never really see anything. We get a few of the now customly evil dead/sam raimi zoom tracking shots even Eric Stanze turns up in the film to become an almost kids TV looking saber toothed demon. But it all sadly fails to work and even the most diehard gorehound's will be hitting the eject disc button before making it to the end. '
