Still grieving over her recently deceased boyfriend, a pregnant woman becomes haunted by a mysterious woman.
'Psychological French horror about a pregnant woman Sarah (Alysson Paradis) who while carrying her unborn child has a car crash and loses her boyfriend. Four months later on the eve of her child being induced she's stalked by a mysterious woman (Béatrice Dalle). Highly disappointing effort given how much hype the film supposedly got during its many showings at horror & film festivals. Granted the gore levels are amazing doubtful there will be a bloodier film released this year, a few scenes really make you cross your legs or look away in disgust. It’s the plot, bland location filming and trite twist that really let it down. What I was expecting to be a wickedly inventive and stylish (which you come to expect from French cinema) psychological journey along the lines of last years wonderful William Friedkin return to form ‘Bug’. Sadly it turns out to be as derivative as any of the recent mindless US slashers. It’s just so damned dull and how the hell they managed to make the once beautiful Betty Blue star Béatrice Dalle so damned ugly is a task in itself. The really sad thing for horror fans is the same writing/directing team have recently finished the Hellraiser remake (Sequels are bad enough best of times but I am now dreading this one so much). Sum it up I'd have to say great levels of gore but sadly a huge let down of a film.'
