Six people are brought together at the funeral of a childhood friend. While settling the estate, they discover a map, which leads them on a search for a long forgotten time capsule, at the request of their dead friend. What they discover reawakens repressed childhood traumas and leads them on a journey through their long abandoned childhood home: a home with a terrible secret and a mysterious dead girl who will lead them to their strange fates.
IMDB Page
'Another After Dark Horror Festival film, this was a late replacement due to Frontier(s) failing to be awarded a certificate in time. Six friends (who we later learn all spent part of their childhoods in an hospice as part of a social study into guilt and controlling of emotions) are brought together at the funeral of another of their friends Bryce. He leaves clues to a chest that he claims will help each of the six friends learn more about themselves. It’s hard to be too harsh on this film as it does a lot of things pretty well, it’s well enough acted for a horror film with a good looking 30 something cast. Visually it’s very competent and has great creepy enough looking sets. It’s just the story and its themes have been done so many times before it never offers enough of a surprise. Also for large periods it all feels like a Scooby Doo episode. Could of been a contender but never fully grips you into its bland plot, I must be honest more than once or twice boredom got the better of me and I just wanted Traci Lords to whip her boobies out like the good old days. Ooohh and the ending made me sing the theme from Weeds over the credits.'
