Wes... Wes... Wes... where did it all go wrong, some directors especially ones like Wes Craven who've for most part spent their careers in horror genre movies, deserve respect. Yet he's become a victim of his own success and his film have for many years and many a fan felt watered down and too mainstream. For someone who gave us the original Last House on the Left, Hills Have Eyes and Elm St its sad he's turned to PG worthy teen junk like the Scream franchise, Cursed and now My Soul To Take. We fans want to love him but boy is he making it hard for us.

My Soul To Take is your basic formula 'local town had a Killer many years back now x amount of years later the killings start again'. Is it the bully kid or the weird one or could it be the clown one in the bird suit, honestly I didn't care from the minute the film started to the second the credits rolled. Its all glossy enough and dare I guess the 12-15 year old market will enjoy it enough, but for a film with the title My Soul To Take it has very little Soul to start with. The only reason to view is to tick it off in your Wes Craven tick list, or watch if your babysitting younger teens and Glee's not on the box. I hope after he's done Scream 4 (like we need or want it) he either quits or delivers something for his older fans.
