Tense and voilent Spanish thriller centering on a family being held hostage. An affluent couple and their daughter move into a new home, but things go wrong on their first night when a gang of three criminals break in and demands the father empty all his bank accounts for them. Two of the criminals hold the mother and daughter at the house, while the father and the third criminal drive to various ATM's clearing his money. Due to a few unwanted house guests thing's gradually get out of hand, and the criminals struggle to maintian the situation before it spirals out of control.
Even though it never feels totally original its an highly entertaining thriller, thanks largly to the fact that once the hostage situation kicks in the pace never slows down. Its filmed in a downbeat unglossy point of view style, as if we were actually there being tied and gagged ourself. At various points during the film, while the father is outside and the others are at the house, the action goes split screen (like the series 24 did so often). The actings very good especially from the three family members, it really makes you believe they're panicing and struggling for their lives. My only real complaint was that the opening segment (kind of an instant precurser to the action to expect) didn't seem to match with the events that happened at the end, but hey it's a worthwhile view, recommended to anyone seeking a taught thriller.
