Added this as a quick recap, purely to score & log the few films I caught over the summer. I'm not going to say much because my memory of it isn't so fresh.
One of the better seminal 80's horror remakes we've had of late. Its far from perfect or in the same league as the original, but usually I'm first to say ball-less junk (like I did with the remakes of Halloween, Elm St, F-13, Fright Night et all)... But Evil Dead 2013 is pretty damned great horror, in fact if it wasn't based on such a classic movie I'd class Fede Alvarez as making one of the most ground breaking horror debuts in years. It lacks the character personalities and humor of the original, but makes up for that by delivering the blood n gore by the bucket load, plus its even a bit scary.
