Hedgehog in the Fog, 1975 - ★★★½

REVIEWED

“I wonder if the horse lies down to sleep, will it choke in the fog?” - Hedgehog (voiced by Mariya Vinogradova)

Everything lurking in the fog is a potential threat and cause for alarm, to a tiny hedgehog whose carrying a gift of jam through the forest to his friend the bear.

Charming 11 minute Russian stop-motion animation short that tops many polls as being one of the greatest animations ever. Impressive, a film everyone can enjoy, its simplistic enough for children and the animation will woo everyone else. Amusing to read that the hedgehog got its own statue in Kiev.

[Personal Reasons For Remembering]

The creepy tree looked great and the fog effect is amazing. Especially when you learn the surprising simple technique how it was done.
