“You know Hartman, I'd rather blow your brains out than lose you to another woman.” - Bloody Olga (Barbara Valentin)
A white supremacist, sadistic former Nazi commandant and his militia of hired goons, run an isolated South Pacific island as if it was a ww2 pow camp. Tired of seeing his fellow troops rape and degrade the local Filipinos, one of the guards Hartman (Udo Kier) decides to help the natives escape.
The Island of the Bloody Plantation was a pure endurance test for me, I feel that drained I can't even be bothered to think of anything positive to say. It wasn't exploitative enough to work as an exploitation movie, and it hasn't got the story to back it up as being a standard adventure or drama. Without the amazing tropical Island location and of course the undeniable screen presence of Kier (who it must be noted was so atrociously dubbed in the Eng version I caught, I wouldn't even recommend the film to his fans), it would have been a total worthless experience.
[Personal Reasons For Remembering]
I guess the character of Bloody Olga was my favorite aspect, shes a kinda Ilsa warden type bitch only much less nasty. Ooohh also the death spider that lays its eggs in a guard was neat, and I was mighty puzzled by the films female POW who used telekineses like witchcraft.
