Ex Machina, 2015 - ★★★★½
REVIEWED

On the surface its a simplistic (only 3 spoken parts) artificial intelligence nightmare, with a deeper psychological/philosophical edge. That magnificently blends themes from Metropolis, Bladerunner, Rear Window and even Apocalypse Now into potentially the years best film.

Hot damn Star Wars ep7's got its work cut out to take away Ex Machina's crown as best sci-fi of 2015, its truly that jaw-dropping. Alex Garlands created a thought provoking modern science fiction masterpiece, the likes of which I've not seen in decades.

Please gods of Hollywood greenlight the movie based on his 'Halo' script already.
