..::Selection for Hoop-tober 2.o Horror Fest::..
Not-so-super supernatural tale from the East and another abject failure by the once respected horror great. After losing a baby, an Arabic couple living in NY decide to go back to Dubai. Only theres more waiting for them when they arrive at their newly built apartments than just welcome home gifts.

Watched purely to cross a Tobe Hooper film from letterboxd's annual October horrorfest, and seriously regretted I had. Its embarrassing such a seasoned pro can be so derivative of classics like Rosemarys Baby and The Grudge, its not just similarities either but scene for scene pilferage. It doesn't even make good use of its unique Dubai location or Djinn legend either, with most the duration being set in the admittedly elegant hotel complex. Yes the creepy baby fx looked amazing as did the actresses playing Salma and the Djinn, but otherwise a total yawn inducing rip-off.
