"Welcome to our little house of madness in the wilderness." - Finn
Not sure what everyones issue is, but I thought this was a brilliant gothic ripping yarn with a quirky streak of lunacy. There isn't nearly enough of these period movies with amazing ensemble casts these days, especially genre tinged ones. Then when we do get one, all the instant fix 'Saw' generation complain it lacks tension, and how the f'ck do those same Saw-tards know whats faithful to Poe.

Brad Andersons always got fringe fans like me behind him. Jim Sturgess was awesome in the lead, reminded me of Michael Palin in his younger days. Beckinsales lovely. Kingsley, Gleeson, Thewlis and my dad Caine are a dream cast, always give fine performances. Best work Andersons done in ages, he deserves to make way more films. I'd love his 'Concrete Island' project to happen sometime.
