"Anything could have caused that... crabs, sea lice, anythng" - Sheriff Hobbs
Standard bug invasion horror that successfully captures a nostalgic b-movie vibe thanks to the hammy acting by its cast including Dean Stockwell and John Savage, its cheesy lightly comedic score and solid direction from kiwi filmmaker Ellory Elkayem, who had more success years later with the similar 'Eight Legged Freaks'.

Insane prospect of flying cockroaches is really no worse than James Camerons flying piranhas.'They Nest's a USA Original tv-movie and is far less gory, and less known than 'The Nest', but its still a fun little film, that fully understands what it is. Would make a great triple bill with 'The Nest' and 'Joes Apartment'. Highlight for me was the bizarre mouse maze scene, they have a gerbil chased by cockroaches.
