'The film that had balls too big for After Dark Horror Fest is finally out on DVD and it’s an over the top treat. The plot blends Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hostel, swapping the token redneck family for a cannibal Nazi one led by leader Von Geisler. We kick off in riot torn Paris as five youths who've managed to get together a stash of cash, head off for Amsterdam. Only one of the 5 is shot and needs taking to the hospital, agreeing to split and meet up later two of the members take him to hospital while the others head off. Only while on the border of Luxemburg they stop off at a hotel next to an old rundown mining village. As planned the others agree to meet them at the hotel but big mistake as its run by a family of incestuous Nazi’s. I was recently pissed off with how over rated the French film Inside was, thankfully the hype surrounding Frontieres is for most part justified. Sure it’s slightly derivative of other films TCM, Hostel, Wrong Turn ad infinitum. It’s also got to be said the ending is slightly over done, especially when you consider how realistic the film played up until the final 20 minutes. That said its still one of the better horror films of the last few years. Little debate over if it deserves the NC17 rating, I'd heard that’s the reason Horror fest couldn’t show it, but it’s their loss as it tops all the films it did end up showing.'
