'Another After Dark Horror Festival film and like Borderland another Mexican based tale. This time from the director of Dead And Breakfast. It tries hard to be Aliens (the creature is a pure Alien rip-off, for that four seconds its light enough to actually see it) meets Descent but fails. Mostly due to its dodgy acting (please Hollywood studios as much as I like seeing British actors winning roles stop giving failed boy band singer Luke Goss parts, he’s been dreadful in so many genre roles now). The lifeless plot doesn’t help either though a few ideas I liked like the fact the alien was on a DNA finding mission and originally peaceful till meeting humans. Unearthed is by no means the worst action/sci-fi/horror ever produced, my time watching it flew by quick enough. It’s just missing that spark to make it better than an average yarn. It would of suited a slot on Sci-Fi channels own movies more than at horror fest.'
