Beneath the calmest surface lies the deepest nightmare'Another After Dark Horror Festival film, three sisters inherit a lakeside motel, from a grandfather they hadn’t been told about. They agree to travel down to see the place before deciding what to do. Due to boyfriend issues one agrees to travel alone and is killed before leaving her home. The other two along with boyfriends and a gang of friends rent an RV and decide to make a weekend of it. Only they’re set upon by the crazy locals. It delivers typical dumb shouty teens in peril acting. The gore is next to none existent and sadly when we do get some its CGI rendered blood. Horror fest is great at giving lower key movies a theatre audience, sadly with Lake Dead they wasted a slot as this deserved to stay in the STV market place. Not the worst horror film ever made but a damned unmemorable one.'
