Purposefully low-tech special effects and an affection for 1950s science fiction inform this futuristic drama in which a solitary female struggles for survival inside a laboratory, attempting to repair broken robots that could assist her fight against an evil invader. As is often the case during an avant-garde apocalypse, even victory comes with a high price to pay.
