Plague Town (2008)
Director: David GregoryWriter: John Cregan, David Gregory
Cast: Josslyn DeCrosta, Erica Rhodes, David Lombard, Lindsay Goranson
An American family visiting their Irish roots accidentally stumbles on a horde of bloodthirsty mutant children.
Trite unoriginal plot and below average acting let down what could have been a great indie horror. A group of four squabbling American vacationers alongside a English guy get stranded in the Irish countryside. Things go from bad to worse when they find shelter in a barn that is plagued by a hoard of mutant kids. Even the most casual movie viewer will guess the plot the minute the film starts, it offers absolutely nothing new or fresh. The only real selling point is the gore and makeup FX, which sometimes work very well (best example being a pair of mutant twin girls slicing the top of a guys head off with a wire cord). Some of the scenes are genuinely creepy feeling its just doubtful many viewers will manage to keep awake long enough to see them.
