The Last Light, 2014 - ★½

REVIEWED

“You need to keep everyone away from the light.” - Noah (Edward Furlong)

A small group of survivors hold out in an abandoned hospital from demonic creatures outside, while having to face their own personal demons within.

Started off with a neat title sequence complete with a dark folk track, that reminded me a little of recent TV gem True Detective. Then we meet the not so magnificent seven survivors and the movie swan dived rapidly into a bland confined group dynamic shambles, topped off with the most predictable conclusion in recent movie history. The whole dull mess felt like an actors rehab meeting.

[Personal Reasons For Remembering]

I guess if I had to pick something, it would be the haggard looking Jeff Fahey getting a neck rub from blonde tweaker looking actress Yvonne Zima. Or for spending most the 90 minutes, picking out which cast member was gonna blow their wages on pharmaceuticals.
