"Its just a one horse town... and they shot the horse 20 years ago" - Marie
A gang of outlaws fleeing a botched robbery, hold a rundown, near desrerted mining town named Flat Pines at ransom. But can they see out the night especially with the local indian legend of the cursed blood moon looming.

Been meaning to kick off my Machismovision Sunday western viewings again for weeks now. Figured I'd start with this fun shapeshifting western horror hybrid that can also tie-in with letterboxd hoop-tober fest.

Cosidering its a modest budgeted UK production they did a sterling job with the frontier town, yankee accents and general western feel. If truth be told I didn't even know it was British till I noticed Shaun Dooly, who memorably played the gay curious parole officer in Ch4's cult show 'Misfits'. Sadly its more successful with its western side than it is its horror one. The clunky werewolf is no match for the similar plotted 'From Dusk Till Dawn' stripper vampires. And ultimately the overall story fell a touch short on its potential.
