"This maybe is the last will and testament of Burtram Gummer" - Burt (Michael Gross)

Straight to video/vod monster sequel isn't as bad as you'd imagine considering its part 5 and the franchises first sequel in 10 years. Penned by the original writers, Michael Gross returns as the gung ho survivalist loon Burt, he's joined by an equally oddball bunch including new camera man Travis and an alcoholic helicopter pilot. He's offered the dream job of tracking and destroying an hive of graboids in the wilds of Africa.

Fun for what it is, but you can't help feel a touch letdown it wasn't the big theatrical reboot with Kevin Bacon it had originally been hinted at being a few years back. Still the new settings cool and theres enough silly banter and action to make the 90 or so minutes fly by. I guess in keeping with its trend of country hopping if we ever get a 6th I'd love Japan, be fun to see graboids ripping up Tokyo or Osaka like they're Toho famous monsters.
