The Manhattan streets explode into chaos as a rat-borne virus is unleashed. With every bite, city dwellers turn into bloodthirsty, rodent-like creatures that violently attack anyone they can get their teeth into. As the city is shut down, and the government neglects to send in rescue units, the residents of an apartment building must ban together or be eaten alive.
'Another After Dark Horror Festival film. This ones an aimable attempt at reinventing the zombie film, only not using undead but mutant rat people or as the New Yorkers in the film say rat bastards. Its a worthwhile low budget horror with a nice array of characters everything from a wheel chair bound ex vet to a gay drag queen to our lead an ex boxer and Charles Bronson wannabe called Clutch. Films pace is good and you can forgive the slightly ropey FX due to its budget restraints the films only real downside is with such a cheesy premise it takes its self far too serious could of done with more Frank Henenlotter/Peter Jackson style gore comedy. As it stands though its well worth a view and I'm sure it'll be an hit at the horrorfest and among horror fans in general.'
