Otherwise known as the halcyon years of horror. Loads of equally great horror films from the 70's, on another day I'd likely pick 10 totally different ones. Outside DoTD that will always top my list. I tried to pick films I enjoy over ones that are kinda obvious like TCM, Jaws or Alien (that fully deserve inclusion, and will feature heavily in most peoples lists).
