"You know you're screwed when even the rabbits won't fuck." - Viktor (John Tench)
Mankind finally screws Earth over with the greenhouse effect. Nature hits back with a new ice age that leaves the few human survivors to form underground colonies. Briggs (Fishburne) is the head honcho of one such colony known as Colony 7, he's faced with the task of helping neighboring Colony 5 who've been attacked by a gang of wandering cannibals.
If your feeling in an undemanding mood The Colony is an entertaining post apocalypse actioner that felt similar in tone to last years 'The Divide' via 'The Day After Tomorrow'. It's been many years since I've expected much from a Laurence Fishburne or Bill Paxton movie, but a few little plot issues aside (biggest being its rushed feeling conclusion) director Jeff Renfroe managed to craft a very watchable movie, I remember liking his first feature 'One Point O' but he sadly seems to have vanished into TV movie obscurity since.
[Personal Reasons For Remembering]
The menacing sight of balding lead cannibal Dru Viergever (he'd have been great in the Hills Have Eyes remake).
