Set in a scary near future, Nikos Nikolaidis' unusual The Zero Years concerns the goings-on at a brothel that specializes in people who have a sadomasochistic fetish. Combining arch, stylized dialogue with graphic depictions of sexual acts, the film opens with the protagonist (Vicky Harris) beginning work at the establishment where she quickly becomes attached to three of the other workers.
