Well crafted comedies are amazingly rare, more so in this day and age with so many being lame sequels, spoofs or stoner/dropout comedies.
Needless to say 'The Kings of Summer' was a pleasant surprise, being one that was not only funny but genuinely warm. Its a coming of age tale thats got a unshakable quirky vibe. For me it played somewhat as if Spike Jonze had decided to cross 'Stand by Me', 'Into the Wild' and 'Son of Rambow' into the one film.
The characters are believable and acting was great, especially young Joe (Nick Robinson) and his father (Parks and Rec's Nick Offerman) And it was cool seeing Alison Brie turn up as the sister/daughter (due to being a big fan of hers in 'Community'). I genuinely loved it even the soundtrack featured music by the likes of Orb, Youth Lagoon and MGMT, its highly possible it'll be among my top few movies of the year.

The movies true highlight was without a shadow of a doubt the oddball character of Biaggio (Moises Arias), hes guaranteed to leave an impression (I never want sequels, but I'd love him to surface again in something similar).
