Director Eduardo Rodriguez burst onto the horror scene years ago with 2 truly amazing shorts Daughter & Curandero (so worth checking your preferred video streamers if you've not caught either). Sadly outside of a lackluster 'Fear Itself' episode hes failed to generate much work within the genre since. And unfortunately Fright Night 2 New Blood fails to fulfill his early promise.
File under could have done better. I enjoyed it over the disastrous big budgeted Fright Night remake from last year. Its a shame but for the atrocious casting & characterizations of both Peter Vincent (dire actor whose character somehow forgot he'd faced real vampires in the other movie) and Evil Ed (dumb wise ass who destroyed every scene he featured in) this could have been a solid little vampire remake. Thankfully there was a few solid set pieces including the early gas station attack, underground tube chase and films climatic pool of blood scene that held my interest through all the bad segments.

British small screen actress Jaime 'Hustle' Murray smoldered as the Elizabeth Bathory style vampire queen, and pretty young Mancunian actress Sacha Parkinson was great in her final scenes as the virgin Amy (those are more rare than a blue moon here in Manchester).
