REVIEWED

"We've got a killer on our hands baby, a real bastard" - Noire Detective (Cameron Klein)

If any movie deserves a 25th Anniversary 5 disc re-release over the next few years it isn't Ron Switzers Science Crazed. Its an amazingly inept shit on video fan horror, following radical scientist Dr Wilbur Frank of the Shelly Institute. He kidnaps and injects a female subject with a growth serum. Which causes her to give birth to a giant clubfooted killer fiend (whose clearly got a severe bronchitis problem). After a slew of killings Dr Franks monster is perused by a gun noire detective, who tries to take down the menace (even though hes short staffed due to it being weekend).

To class Science Crazed as being bad or even grade-z would be a gross understatement, because its truly horrendous. One amusing comment I read said "It makes Hands of Manos look like Ingmar Bergman". But it isn't a complete waste due to its high quota of laugh out loud, so bad they're funny moments. At least 10 minutes of the duration is wasted on a big haired blond chick and her chubby friends dance routine & workout (and its no Flashdance let me tell you). Another 5-10 rotating around a Cindi Lauper wannabe. A further few minutes on a woman saying country names, hell the movie even takes time out to slowly pan over hanging horror movie posters very, very slowly (guess to prove the filmmakers horror credentials).

[Personal Reasons For Remembering]

Being the worst Frankenstein themed movie ever filmed. To be honest though, don't let my poor score put you off because its pure bad movie gold, how can you not laugh your arse off at a monster that bleeds different coloured blood depending on where its wounded.
