"I'm not into contortionists... mum always told me to beware of twisted girls" - Bazil (Dany Boon)

Another grade-A Tour de Farce, from French filmmaker Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

Bazil gets shot in the head while working his night shift job in a video store. The attack leaves a bullet lodged in his brain and him jobless (due to the time spent off recovering). This forces poor Bazil to live on the streets where ends up meeting a wacky assortment of street vagabonds. He hatches a bizarre plan to get revenge on the weapons manufacturers responsible for producing his craniums bullet, which incorporates all his new friends unique talents.

Delightful fantasy yarn thats packed full of warmth, day dreamy childish amusement, visual slapstick and an underlaying intelligence most comedies could only hope to attain. Love it so much, reminded me of the viciously underrated 80's Oz movie Malcolm employing the artistic style of JPJ's own Delicatessen. In short Jean-Pierre Jeunet's back on top of his game, after far too long on vacation.

[Personal Reasons For Remembering]

So many amusing moments my favorites being the inventive faux terrorist kidnapping to the sound of an improvised soundtrack and of course the wonderful automatons.
