Quick-Draw Okatsu (1969)
Director: Nobuo Nakagawa
Writer: Kôji Takada
Okatsu's path of relentless slaughter continues in this legendary female swordplay film! Junko Miyazono returns as QUICK-DRAW OKATSU, the daughter of a swordplay instructor who takes on a power-hungry magistrate in the second entry in the LEGENDS OF THE POISONOUS SEDUCTRESS series. Joined this time by Rui, a wild young swordswoman, the two sexy avengers embark on a blood-soaked quest for revenge after Okatsu is raped and her father slaughtered by one of his assistants. Okatsu and Rui slash their way through dozens of evil men in order to settle the score with those who wronged them, in this swordplay classic which features some of the best fight scenes of the series.
'Great to see synapse are continuing the Pinky Violence Collection but I couldn't help but being frustrated at the fact this seconds entry of the 'Legends of the Poisonous Seductress' series follows new characters than it did with the first one. Junko Miyazono is back but this time as Okatsu gone is the glorious backplot about being the tattooed surviving daughter of a suicide committing prostitute this time she's the found at birth daughter of a wealthy land owner who's wayward son gets the family in trouble when he gets mixed up with local gamblers. The son flee's the trouble with his girlfriend who's carrying his unborn child. This leaves Okatsu and the father to pay his debts, Okatsu is forced to become a concubine to the leader of the gang and the father is killed by having his eye gouged out. Okatsu manages to escape and goes to help her brother now dead and his girlfriend still with the unborn child, and to take revenge on her father. The plots all a bit messy we get a helpful female assassin Rui show up at various points to lend an hand played by the attractive Reiko.Oshida we also get Lone Wolf himself Tomisaburo Wakayama as a good hearted bounty hunter. The story's more about sword fights this time than the 1st films exploitative melodrama as to be said that being in colour makes the fights much more eye catching. One really great scene as an house side on we get to see various rooms at once. It's all pretty much a standard revenge formula, well worth watching but I enjoyed Female Demon Ohyaku alot more.'
